Where does
your support go?
New Zealand-
Wrecked 52:7 was blessed beyond belief in the realm of finances. We paid for
our own meals rarely and God even blessed us with transportation to the airport
at the end of the month. Totara Springs Christian Camp counted our work as a
trade for our food and housing. They went over and beyond our expectations in
both arenas (The girls stayed in the ex-CEOs house, the boys in a “flat” next
door, and we were fed graciously with morning and afternoon “teas” on top of meals). Our work around camp involved manual labor
then Kids camp (anything from counseling, to sleeping in bunks with kids, to
first aid, to photography). Because we are budgeted to spend “so much” on food,
lodging, laundry, Internet, etc, we were able to “bless” Totara with the money
we had raised for this month. They put the money toward kids who could not
afford to pay for camp.
Australia-
In month 2,
finances were a bit tighter. It was a challenge to stay in the food and lodging
budget, but again, God blessed us. After a week at the “twice over budget”
campsite, God granted us free shelter at Eastgate church, whom we were also
able to bless. Secondly, as we got to know the town of Byron Bay more
intimately, we discovered things like “half-off” meat pies at Spar, one of the
local grocery stores, and how to cook cheap meals. It also helps when one of
the workers in the deli is your friend from church (*coughThanksJasminecough*). During month 2, your support helped us
have the ability to minister to a town built around witchcraft, Buddhism, and
universalism. We were allowed a unique and challenging street ministry month
full of relationship building, prayer, and evangelism. This picture represents a little of what its like to live homeless for a night in Byron, something we did once a week, as part of our 24 hour prayer ministry.
Philippines-
In month 3,
God takes care of us again. Go figure, God prevails. Our entire squad is housed
at Kids International Ministry (KIM) with warm showers, hot meals, wireless
Internet, and laundry facilities. KIM also provides us with transportation to
and from “Children’s Garden” and “the dump.” Therefore, a good chunk our
finances allow this to happen. We are able to help our ministry sites out as
well. We buy clothes for the folks living under the Marikina Bridge, as well as
help feed them. We also plan on blessing the ministry at the boys’ home.
I,
personally, still need $2,391 dollars to finish the race, to finish what my
team has already started around the world. God called me and I have FAITH he
will provide the funds. If you can do anything to support my next 8 months, please click “support me” on the left hand column of the screen OR
consider intercessory prayer on my behalf.
Thank you
and “Mabuhay!” from the Philippines!
