Saturday, it rained.

Most interesting day of my life.

Story
1
: 9:30 AM

Amanda and I began the 35 minute walk
into Byron Bay from our campsite. As soon as we
reached the road, the rain began (actually poured down)… and we walked on.

Soaked to our skimpies, we laughed,
laughed somemore, and kept walking. Our destination= Mary Ryan’s coffee and
books to start intentional conversations with strangers. We call it: coffee
shop ministry.

Once reaching town, we stopped by the
coffee shop but soon decided to invest in new DRY clothes, specifically a pair
of length fisherman pants.

We embraced our new hippie look and
headed back to Mary Ryan’s. Oh, and yes, still raining.

Due to the rain, passersby needed shelter
and Mary Ryan’s was a convenient choice of rest. In other words, the coffee
shop was packed. Sweet as. Also the large square table provided easy
opportunity for conversation with strangers.

Worship.

All 5 teams (3 from “N” and 2 from “M”)
set to have a worship service around the stage and cooking pavilion at the
campsite. One challenge: the rain. As soon as we were focused, it comes down
hard, and the wind picks up strong. We all try to squeeze under the pavilion to
avoid getting wet
all over again. Then the guitars (in the only dry spot) began to play.

God quickly humbled me. “What
on earth are you doing under the bench Lisa?”

Why were we so concerned with safety, as
if scared of a little rain and thunder?

Within minutes, the seeking-shelter
mindset turned into a dance party for Jesus… in the pouring rain.
Grace raining down on Byron Bay. Grace like rain. Holy Spirit in our veins.
Claiming our purpose here. Gaining so much. Living our destiny. Conducting the
dance. Fist-pumping the intense power.

Stay tuned for Grace like rain
