The World Race goes through stages of breaking one’s soul ties and set them into freedom. Then they give you teams and you learn to grow and live together. When all of those things have been completed then going into the countries in freedom, united as a team, and unified with Christ and in turn it is a huge triple threat. The WR teaches a culture of honor, feedback (positive and constructive), preference (preferring others before oneself), prophecy (hearing from the Holy Spirit), and community.
We implement these things into our teams and it has been life changing. Since we see each other every second of the day we are able to give gifts of feedback to help each other grow into greatness in the healthiest community possible. It is an amazing thing to walk out of a room of 6 girls and know that they will not be talking about me behind my back because we are choosing to grow into greatness together. This has made our team safe and full of love and encouragement. God has blessed me to be the leader in this environment. I love these girls so much and couldn’t pick a better group of girls to travel the world and do his work. I know that God is preparing our team for something BIG and something GREAT to further his kingdom.
A verse that really speaks to me about team unity is Ephesians 4:2-4 “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to the glorious hope for the future.”
Sometimes I think about how I can bring a culture like this back to the states…I will probably start feedbacking my mom and dad, speaking life into people, and encouragement into my nieces. This is something that has changed my life and I want to recreate this wherever I go.
