Name: Aaron
Age: 9 years old
It took me a while to really get to know Aaron because the younger boys will hang all over you while the older boys are more reserved. I am so glad Aaron has warmed up to me! He is always the first person to scoot his way over to the door when I show up, yelping with excitement. Although he doesn’t speak, Aaron is very intelligent! He works with a tutor at home and is very receptive to learning. He also loves watching what other people are doing and enjoys seeing how things work!
Aaron has cerebral palsy so his muscles are very stiff. He has the ability to scoot around, but he typically has his arms and legs bent in towards his body. I have had the opportunity to work with his ayahs (Indian nurses) in stretching out his muscles. Although he hates it, it is definitely for the best. It breaks my heart when he cries as he is stretching, but I love being able to hold his head and rub his cheek to comfort him. After we are done stretching, he will just sit in my lap and let me love on him.
Aaron is also a little ladies’ man!! When I sit on the ground, he scoots to me and places his head on my knee. He loves when I scratch his head and rub his back! Then, every day when I go to leave I give him a kiss on the cheek and he turns his head so I can give him another. Then he turns back to the first cheek and points to it again. This goes on for about 10 kisses! He is so a loving little man!
