In Romania this month, I get to work with an organization called Hope Church Ministries. It is an amazing church located in Draganesti-Olt, Romania and has a ton of different types of ministries.
My friend and fellow World-Race, Jeffrey Ballance (T-Squad), spent a month here in July. Let me tell you: he really talked the place up! My heart was so excited to get to experience all that he did in his month here. And to top it off, my team was assigned to do administrative and office work, which is my favorite!
Jeffrey's description was only the tip of the iceberg. Romania is amazing! It has such a variety of landscape across the country and the area we are in sort of reminds me of Mid-West America, which I love. Also, our contact, Raul, has been such a blessing to us. He has encouraged us to look to God for guidance on our life and for wisdom. On top of all of this, we get 2 hours every morning to worship and pray which has been so refreshing.
Now for a little bit about Hope Church.
Hope Church is the only church in Draganesti, a town full of Orthodox people who do not see God as a living person. To them, traditions and laws are more important. We are here to help them see that God is alive and that we have been saved by grace and faith.
Hope Church is a part of RESO Ministries. A description of RESO Ministries reads,
"God has brought His kingdom to this earth. We – RESO Ministry- are bringing the Kingdom of God to Southern Oltenia, Romania. We are sharing the freedom of Christ through meeting the spiritual and physical needs of the people (Matthew 9:35)"
I encourage you to pray as the missionaries of Hope Church try and revive people's hearts for God! If you would like to see how you can pray for them and follow what they are doing, please visit:
