I haven’t put up a blog in a while, so here’s a little update on my life right now!
First off, I graduate in less than a week! These past four years spent at Norman North have flown by. I have loved my time here and all the people that I have gotten to know so well. I am very ready to leave and move on to the next chapter of my life, but there are moments I’ll miss. I’ll miss spending 3rd hour with chorale. I’ll miss spending so many late nights with the musical casts. But as you know, all good things must come to an end and I am ready to leave my high school years behind.
In other news, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work at the YMCA summer day camp all summer! I am so excited for this job. I love working with kids, so I am thrilled to have a job doing what I love all summer. This position will end the day before training camp (August 10th – 20th), so I will have a month off to prepare for the World Race. Our team will meet in Atlanta on October 2nd, and we leave for Thailand after just a few days of training in the States!
Now for the World Race Updates!!! First, I want to say thank you. Thanks to you, I have officially passed the $3,000 mark! That means that I am over halfway to the $5,000 deadline at the end of July. God has been providing in the craziest ways, and I could not be more thankful. The Lord has been so evident that this is His plan throughout the whole fundraising journey.
I still need you! I am still very in need of your prayers and support. I am about $2,000 away from my first deadline, which saves my training camp spot. I am completely trusting that The Lord will provide. If you would like to partner with me, there are a ton of ways to help. There’s even a new fundraiser! Please, please considering partnering with me to help reach Thailand, Malawi, and Guatemala! Here’s how you can help:
SAVE THE DATE FUNDRAISER (NEW!!!)
Okay guys. I’m pumped about this one. Save the Date is the newest fundraiser, and it is so easy for everyone! On the Race, I will be gone for about 273 days (October 1st to June 31st). I need about $10,605 to be fully funded. That amount of money split between 273 days comes down to about $40 a day.
All you have to do is pick one of days that I will be gone and donate $40! Pick any day that means something to you. Pick your birthday. Pick Christmas. Pick Thanksgiving. Pick your dogs birthday. Or just pick a random day! It’s up to you!! Once you have your day(s) selected, Go click the “Donate!” button and donate $40 for each day you’ve chosen. When you donate, make sure to comment what day you have chosen. Then when that day comes, I will send you a message or video of all that was done that day! That way, you know exactly what you’re donating towards. If we can get all 273 days sold, I will be completely funded!!
BUY THREADS OF HOPE
I still have plenty of bracelets, lanyards, and keychains for sale!! If you see me often, I always have them in my car. Also, they will be for sale at my graduation party on May 31st (message me for details). Half the money from Threads of Hope merchandice goes to my trip, and the other half goes to families at risk in the Philippines.
BUY A RAFFLE TICKET
If you like Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, and surprises then this one may be for you. Anyone can be put in the raffle for a donation of $20 or more. The winner gets a $20 gift card to Chick-Fil-A, a $20 gift card to Starbucks, and a surprise gift card! Just make sure that when you donate, comment and specify that your donation is specifically for the raffle, or your name will not be entered.
DONATE
The generous donations of the community around me are what have brought me to where I am. If you would like to partner with me by a donation, just click the “Donate!” tab on my blog page or message me if you would like to donate cash/check. All donations are tax exempt. Thank you so much for your love, support, and generosity!
MASON JARS
I have small, medium, and large mason jars up for grabs!! Each size represents one country that I’m going to. Just put the jar in a place you see often, and fill it with spare change! You can also grab your small group or a group of friends and fill it together. I will pick the jar up whenever it is full. The pennies will add up all together! Each participant will receive a bracelet from the country that their jar represents.
PRAY PRAY PRAY!!
Please please please be praying throughout this journey! This is by far the biggest thing you can do. Here’s some specific ways that you can be praying:
- Pray for the people of Thailand, Malawi, and Guatemala. Pray that each life that we encounter will be open to the love of Christ, and pray for the nations as a whole.
- Pray for the Adventures in Missions staff. These people are some of the most loving, selfless people that i have ever met. They have a lot on their plate, and each supports and has a personal relationship with each missionary that they send out. Im sure that getting groups of 50+ college students safely around the world can be crazy at times, so pray for stress relief and peace.
- Pray for my team and I. Pray that we are not only growing in our relationship with God, but our relationships with our teammates. Pray that each of us meet our fundraising goals, and that we can each prepare our hearts to be sent out on this Kingdom journey.
Well, that’s it! That’s what is happening in my life, and all the current ways to support this journey. Now that you’ve made it to the end, make sure to subscribe! That just means that you will get email updates when I post a new blog. It’s an easy and free way to keep up with what’s happening. Thank you so much for reading! I’ll catch you on the flip side, friends. 🙂
