I had the divine privilege of getting to know these girls last year.

I never believed in love at first sight. Then they shuffled in and looked around timidly, avoiding my eyes.
Getting to know these beauties was an experience beyond words.
I still don’t know all of their stories and we’ve only exchanged a few words. But we were able to love each other. For a short time we shared a life that included dance parties and stubbed toes. We prayed together and I held them when they missed their parents.
The most valuable phrase I learned in Hindi was… Ami tomar kay bahalabasi… I love you… And oh did I say it. I told the girls this in the morning and in the night. I would tell them when we sat down for tea and when I painted their toe nails. I told them after they got in trouble and when they helped to clear dishes after dinner.
These five amazing, breathtaking, beautiful, intelligent, lively, sweet, playful and sassy daughters were loved – head lice and all.

This ministry involved shaping the next generation. It involved beginning to teach the boys living at Asha Mission how to become young men. It was all about calling them into the life that God created them to live. It was all about ending the cycle of boys learning from their fathers and neighbors that it’s ok to abuse and take advantage of women. It was about pulling kids off the street and into my arms and telling them…
ami tomar kay bhalabasi

The ministry was all about sitting down in the dirt with the girls making mud pies and telling them – maybe for the first time ever that they are worth it. It was all about instilling the truth that they are dearly loved. The fact that they are female, poor and orphaned (in India of all places) does not mean they are a waste of space.
This is still what my heart breaks for. This is what the heart of the World Race beats for. This is what the Fathers heart beats for.
I can’t wait to see how God provides for the World Race, my prayer is that it would be through you. If your heart strings have been tugged at all – don’t fight it and instead ask how you can share in Gods heart and join this ministry.
Some aren't in the position to go work in this capacity overseas, but are in the position to be involved by giving. Pray about it and wait to hear what God says.
