Hello!
Thank you for checking out this awesome blog page! I promise to keep things interesting. So I am about to embark on a crazy adventure known as the World Race, not to be confused with the T.V show “The Amazing Race”. What the world race program is, is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries. I along with a small group of young adults are going to the change the world in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe! This will be the place where I keep you updated on what God is doing on my team and in my life! Facebook will be another great way as well.
Since being back in Illinois so many people have asked, what’s next and as much as I had hoped to be here a little longer God is calling me to “GO”! Some of you guys may be wondering what the world race is! What will happen in those 11 months! To be honest I don’t know what God has planned in that time but I know it involves working in orphanages, walking through the red light districts of Asia, talking to prostitutes, planting churching, building homes, loving people, and being the hands and feet of Jesus!
The great news is… I can not do it without all you incredible people reading this! There are so many many ways to give!! (Support letters will be sent out here soon, so make sure you get ahold of me if you want one)
1.) Give through PRAYER – this is one of the best ways to give! You may be reading and your like, that doesn’t matter so much, but truly it does. If you don’t know what to pray about this may be a starter for you… Finances, pray for my team, for our ministry sights, for people’s hearts to be open to the Lord, for health and safety!
2.)Give through FINANCES – this trip will cost $16,257. I know that where God guides he will provide! Pray about becoming a monthly partner or a one time donator. Maybe the Lord is putting a certain amount to give you can just click the support me tab on the side of the page and it will take step by step. You can donate anonymously as well! There will also be fundraisers coming up that you can participate in as well.
3.)Give through TIME- I am calling it the dream team – so maybe Gods given you the amazing gift of creativity, and/or administrative or even serving. There will be many events in the near future that takes a lot of ideas and planning and I would love to work with you guys to make these events a huge success for the people. Im thinking dinners, car washes, ext. my heart is for you guys to get involved with your families, or just you and have fun and let loose!
Maybe Gods put all three on your heart! That is so awesome!
I know this is kinda been a long fist blog. I know God is already doing big things, and he is preparing your heart. I have one more final thought for you before this first blog is done. It’s about my night being homeless!! This happened the day after I applied for the World Race!
Ok ok… I may have not have slept in the streets, or in a car, or even in a shelter but tonight my home is a church pew. I have no idea where she came from besides a small Native American tribe in Wisconsin. I know she’s going to Melbourne Florida. How she managed to show up at my tiny church in the middle of nowhere is something only God could manage to orchestrate. What was God doing in this beautiful moment? Only He would know. We found her sleeping in her car after church. She didn’t even have a coat. Right then we had a decision. We had the decision to leave, to ignore what we’ve seen, forget this sight had ever taken place. Or we can get out of our comfort zone, out of American Dream reality and be the words we ask God for all the time. I know we all say it. We ask God for more, we ask God for more opportunities to be used by him. We ask for more blessings, for more ways to serve, more ways to give, more ways to be the hands and feet of Jesus! But when we’re faced with the real opportunity we run and hid, sometimes we even get mad at God because “it’s not a good time”. But in reality it’s out of our comfort level, it’s something we’re not use to. Besides were we even serious about the prayer we prayed probably in the beginning of the day.
As I sit and listen to this women play piano from memory I begin to realize it’s really not about us, or our daily ritual, what our day was like. It’s about being serious about trusting in God and being used by God. It’s about commitment. I think if we would of not opened the church doors this beautiful that God chose to use us, we would of missed out on all because we were so concerned about criminal minds on Netflix or a full day’s work the next morning.
Instead God is showing me this is what I want to do for my the rest of my life. Being used by God in whatever way that looks like. I am ok with sleeping in pews, on floors, on a bus, in a tent. If it means I get to love people and show them Jesus. It’s worth the sleeping arrangements, the crazy food, and even sometimes sickness.,then I think that I just applied to the craziest journey yet that does just that. I’m ready for it. I’m ready to get accepted and Go. Me and Jesus. This crazy adventure. Beautiful, chaotic moments are waiting. The world is waiting.
