This Friday morning, a group of 6 World
Racers walked ton the Manila Harbor and boarded a ferry boat for what
would be the most restful 2 days I’ve had in months. Since July, my
life ahs been go go go and little else. Moving, training, camp,
Alaska (some rest there too thank God), moving again, working, saying
goodbyes, moving again, packing, preparing, saying more goodbyes,
flying, launch camp, moving again, and working at the dump. Friday
and Saturday consisted of walking about a mile, riding an air
conditioned ferry boat, setting up my tent, swimming, walking around
a prefect little island, swimming, laying, cooking hot dogs on fire,
reading, being treated to Coke Zero by some local fishermen, eating
s’mores, watching the sunset in a sudden downpour, taking a tour of a
tunnel system built by the US during WWII, singing Karaoke with 4
island locals, sleeping in a breezy tent about 20 meters from the
South China Sea, waking for the sunrise, swimming, napping, reading,
sitting, and resting in Him. It was exactly the break I needed. We
spent about $25 American dollars of our own money and I can’t tell
you all how much more it was worth. God took those two days and
filled me back up. I could read the Bible without thinking about
finishing a chapter before leaving, I caught up on journaling, I read
for pleasure. He truly blessed me.
there, there was little info about it (other then WWII history) so I
was a little worried we would get there and be disappointed, and as
the primary planner I would feel guilty for leading my friends
astray, but God totally came through. We got a taste of the history,
but reallly got to enjoy His creation. We are now a little sunburned,
a lot rested, and totally ready for our next week of ministry before
we take off for the great big unknown of next month. Starting around
Halloween I will be out of contact until Thanksgiving, please please
keep my team and I in your prayers. Ill post another blog soon about
our progress in the Library and some of the people we have met soon.
