Here is a copy of my support letter, Please pray for the reception it gets when I distribute it to people I am hoping will become my supporters. Also, since I have been thinking about it I realized that if every single person I give a letter to just contributes $10 a month I would reach my goal, I know not everyone is able to make a commitment for a year, but just something I realized as I was trying to figure out the numbers. God is good, and I know He will provide in amazing ways.

Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you well and that the year has started off well. 2008 holds a great opportunity for me. Last fall I was introduced to The World Race through Adventures in Missions. It is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries around the world, serving people in desperate need. In October 2008, I will join a group of 30+ people in this journey to live as Jesus did and meet the needs of “the least of these.” Since my first trip to Tanzania, I have felt called to come alongside people who are overlooked and show them love and kindness. This project will allow me to do this and much more.
Each month, I will be in a different country with new people taking part in a unique ministry. I could be working with orphans in Uganda, sex slaves in Thailand, impoverished families in Honduras, disaster victims in Peru, and those lost all over the world. I will give up my Southern California comforts, take up my cross (in the form of a backpack and a tent), and go out to the nations. As my team and I live in community, we will learn about each other, ourselves, and God.
I am excited to see how God works in this time leading up to the race and as I serve His people. As I look forward and prepare for this trip, I know I cannot do this without your help. I would be honored if you could partner prayerfully and financially with me in this ministry. I am looking for people who will commit to pray for me every day while I am gone. I also have to raise $15,600 to cover living, travel, and ministry expenses. While this amount seems large, I trust that the Lord will provide. To reach my total goal I need 13 people to pledge $50 a month, 20 people to pledge $25 a month, and 15 people to pledge $10 a month for the year I am gone. You can also support me by giving a one-time gift, and/or committing to pray for me through this experience. I have to depend on you and God as I seek to serve Him and live with the poorest of the poor. Your prayers and support are vital to this ministry.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in the memo section of the check if you wish. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information. Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor.
As I prepare for and while I journey on the race, I will keep an updated blog, describing my life and ministry through pictures and stories, which can be found at http://lindseyhogg.theworldrace.org. There is also a link to support me through online donations found on the site. I encourage you to visit www.theworldrace.org to read current blogs of racers all over the world.
I am very excited about how God will use me and what He will teach me through this experience. I hope not only to be a blessing to those I serve, but also to you as my supporter. I will continue to fervently pray that the Lord will be glorified through this process. I know He has a plan and I am looking forward to seeing how He accomplishes it. I know that if He can create the vivid colors of a sunset, He can certainly provide the support and strength I will need. I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting me as I embark on the challenge of a lifetime.
Thank you so much,
Lindsey Hogg
