At about the half-way mark of the race, I remember stalking these very types of blogs. I wanted to know what racers were doing after the WR because I was desperate to figure out what I would be doing.
After an amazing extra month in India, I had July and August to adjust to life back in the States. Since being home, I have caught up with friends and family, helped planned my sister's wedding (which happened last weekend), and written an article on Blended Families for a local paper (I just received my second assignment from the paper yesterday!).
Now, September has finally arrived. As many people know, I would have been boarding a plane to India in a week or two if God hadn't made it clear that India was not where I was supposed to be at the moment.
So what am I doing instead? I am finally going to explore what it would look like to make Youth Ministry my vocation. On Wednesday, September 11th, I'll be headed to Georgia where I will participate in Center for Global Action. It is a program offered through AIM that incorporates community, discipleship, and apprenticeships to World Race Alum. Instead of having an apprenticeship with AIM, I will be volunteering at Lakewood Baptist Church in their Youth Ministry department. The icing on the cake? Lakewood also has a really large special needs ministry which I am looking forward to volunteering with on the side.
I still need to raise 1,000 dollars for CGA. If you are interested in supporting me, you can click on the link to the left. And as always, your prayers are greatly appreciated!
Thank you and God bless you!
