A water park in India

This morning I woke up at 6am and the last thing I wanted to do was drive 3 hours in a crowded van to be a water park all day with a ton of people. But, since I had already committed, I dragged myself out of bed and got ready to go. For the next hour I felt really anxious and couldn't shake it, so I prayed "Papa, I need you to show up today, or else there is no way I am going to make it."

Fast forward 12 hours, as i was getting dropped off back at the apartment, I couldn't help but smile and pray "Thank you, Papa. Today was incredible."

Now for the in between part: 16 SCH kids, 16 Ayahs, a handful of SCH staff, and 8 Americans. I had been so fearful that we would be so crammed in small vans (I get carsick really easily), and so the first great surprise was that we had three vans which easily held everyone. At the start of the long trip I got to talk to some of the passport team whom I had yet to meet. Since God loves making the world smaller, one of the girls attends Chico state, where a friend of mine and her Husband were on CRU staff, and another girl was also from so cal. It was awesome to hear their stories of how God called them to this trip, and it was great to share with them stories from my past year and how God called me back to India short term.

3 hours later we arrived at the water park and I was amazed how smoothly the day went. When I say waterpark, it was also like a mini amusement park. Jodi got to ride the swings, a carousel, and a train. She also got a kick out of riding in the wheel chair on the cobblestone street 🙂 I also made her do some PT stuff, by walking around (pushing the chair or holding my hand) which she also enjoyed a lot. Then after a delicious lunch, we put on our Indian swimsuits (aka swim pants and a long swim shirt) and headed towards the water!

Jodi loved playing in the water! She also loved drinking it, which I prevented as best I could. She got a kick out of splashing around and me trying to get her to float on her back. She also got some great standing practice in and we got to slide down the slide once. Next, we headed to the wave pool. I was a little wary because when we went to the beach last year, she did not seem to be a huge fan of the waves, but goodness gracious she loved the wave pool. Each time a wave came I would jump with her in my arms and she would shriek with a laughter. By the end of the day, both she and I were exhausted.

Everyone walked away from this day with a smile on their face. It was seriously such a blessing from God. I am so thankful that He showed up today… Don't you just love that He is so faithful like that?

"This is the day that The Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!"
