Disclaimer: Since Vietnam is a closed country, I have to be careful with what I share on the internet
God is doing a lot in Vietnam. He is raising up a generation who is desperate for more of Him. It's crazy to see and be a part of for a month. Pray for this nation!
One quick story I wanted to share:
Yesterday, we were told that we were going to visit an orpahange and play with the kids. Upon arrival, we were told that the kids were still in school. However, it turns out that the home was also a home for eldery (most of whom had special needs). My heart broke for these people. Upon seeing some of them, I immediately thought of the Children back at SCH.
These men and women were so sweet and I am so thankful that we had the chance to love on them. It was very apparent that they do not get a lot of visitors. One woman (who was probably in her late 50's) kept bringing out "gifts" to me. Chocolates, little candies, Jello, and even some beautiful flowers. She was such a great reminder of what a giving heart looks like. She expected nothing in return. She simply found joy in sharing with others the little she had.
One woman look absolutely miserable and I didn't blame her. She was about 70 years old and had a large tumor behind her left eye. I was able to sit with her and give her some of the candy and one of the flowers I had received. She managed to crack a smile. I grabbed my teammate, Mike, and we prayed for her before we left.
At one point, one of our contacts brought us to a room with two very old woman- one was 104 and the other was 112! Their floor had just been mopped and the nurse didn't want me to go inside, but I prayed silently for the 112 year old woman. She seemed so weak and helpless.
The 104 year old woman was a different story. She had a wonderful smile and enjoyed walking around with me. We sat together for a while as she gabbed away in Vietnamese.
Visiting this home was such a blessing and a great reminder of why I am going back to SCH (the special needs home in India). Everyone needs to be loved.
In less than two weeks, my squad will head to Africa! Uganda in January, Kenya in Feburary, and we recently had a route change, so we will be going to Tanzania (instead of Rwanda) in March.
I still have 1,784 dollars left to raise. Will you prayerfully consider supporting me. I know that God has so much in store for the next 5 countries/5 months. Join me on this incredible journey and see more and more how anything is possible with our amazing God.
