Our month of October was spent partly in Romania and Croatia.
We had 3 weeks in Croatia and we spend two of those weeks in a city called Split and our last week on the island Kortula.
In Split we served a ministry that included running
Global Cafe’.
In Kortula we were able to use our fine handyman/handywoman skills to help update a hostel. Just let me know if you would like me to put in laminate flooring, paint or stain wood doors for you. 🙂

Here are 7 of my favorite things about this past month.
- Alison
and Renata. Croatia is full of traditional believers. What I mean by that
is people that go to church yet have no idea about Jesus, who he was, his
work on the cross, and God’s word. Christians are persecuted for their
faith. Christians are out of place in a city full of tradition. One reason
God brought us to Split was to encourage, love, and pour into Alison and
Renata. These women are on-fire for the Lord. They don’t have a large
community of believers or people that pour into them. They feel alone but
they are BOLD. They are USED in their community to bring Kingdom. They are
inspiring to me.
2. Bob and Monica. Two Americans who retired in Kortula, Croatia three years ago.They are from California and Bob’s family is originally from Croatia. Amy and I met Bob and Monica in a grocery store. I love divine appointments! They are believers who love to welcome people into their home so they invited us over for tea and dessert. They are SO loving and God used them to love on us. Thanks Bob and Monica for an unforgettable day!

The Warholic Family. A family of 5 that has laid down their life to serve God. They moved to Croatia 6 years ago after God gave them the order to go. Their faithfulness and obedience speaks volumes to my heart. The love of the Lord radiates off of them and I know they are making an impact while in Croatia.
- The
City. Split is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I never, in a million years,
thought I would make it to Croatia. Here are a few pictures from my daily
walks through and outside of the palace walls.

- Jelena.
She is beautiful, sweet, kind, loving, and is generous. It’s hard not to
like her. I had the privilege of meeting Jelena while staying in a hostel
in Split. She is living at the hostel while going to a university. She comes from a Catholic background yet doesn’t put herself in a
box. I don’t think she knows yet where she stands. During a lovely tea date, I had the opportunity
to open my mouth and explain to her the identity Christ wants to give her. I know she could be used to be a bold woman of
God to impact her city. I hope to maintain a lasting friendship with her!
- Downtime.
So, on the race, some months are filled with lots of downtime and some
months don’t have much downtime at all. This month we had our mornings free or afternoons
free. In our free time the team did a lot of walking around the city, visiting museums,
eating gelato, and enjoying our 2nd to last month together.
