Oh, hey there… Welcome to my blog! (I never thought I would say that).

My name is Lindsey Brooke Duerr. I am 22 years old, from Orange, CA, where I was born and raised. I am so excited to be able to share this adventure with you. I guess I should apologize from the start for grammatical errors and spelling mistakes (sorry Grandma!) that may occur over these next months while I’m blogging. Some of my favorite things to do are spend time with family, laugh till I cry with friends, go to Disneyland, go to the beach, and take photographs of this beautiful world that our majestic creator made.

So what got me to this point, why am I here blogging?! Prayer…

I’ve been praying for the past two years for Christ to help me let go and take complete control of my life. About two years ago I was helping mentor/lead a high school youth group on a winter retreat up at Forest Home in the mountains. During one of our reflection times, I was with a fellow mentor when I completely broke down. Not in the bad sense, but in the good, the completely raw and emotional, truth telling way. I was so completely overcome by the grace of the Lord. He was calling me to be uncomfortable. Sounds weird, right? I live a very comfortable life here in sunny Southern California. And here, He was telling me to go do something different and I was not scared at all by it. I told my fellow mentor what Christ was telling me to do. I shared with her that I think he is telling me to “GO!” and that was the all I knew at that point. She prayed over me and that is when I knew I would eventually be going somewhere, sometime to serve the Lord, but it would all be in the Lord’s timing. So when I came across this thing called ‘The World Race’, I felt a little nudge from the Lord, ok maybe not a nudge, but a shove… I mean it is 11 months in 11 foreign countries. Now, I’m here blogging and eagerly trying to prepare for this trip. Because, now I’m here, now I’m going.
