Yes, it’s true. My global knowledge isn’t as comparable to most, but it’s growing!

For those of you who don't know where Cambodia is either, here is a helpful map!
We have entered month ten! At this point, we have about 7 weeks left until we kiss the land that we call our own. It’s been a crazy ride, but it’s not over yet!
How easy it is to set our thoughts and emotions on the reunions that will soon happen and all the home-cooked food we will consume. But we can’t wish away the hot, sweaty days and the suspicious food just yet.
We’ve been in Cambodia for over a week now. Since it was their Buddhist New Year, we decided to educate ourselves on the history of Cambodia—seeing the ancient temple, Angkor Wat, and visiting the Killing Fields from the Khmer Rouge regime.

Due to this country’s recent tragedy of the mass genocide, they are still very under-developed. During the Khmer Rouge regime, the leaders prohibited all education, medical practices, and any religious beliefs. Now, just 30 years later, Cambodia is still trying to get caught up to the rest of the world.
Our ministry this month is alongside the orphanage, Cambodian Hope Association—one of the only Christian orphanages in Phnom Penh and among the poorest. At the orphanage we are holding various classes for the 28 kids; including English and computer skills.
Beautiful, smart, and eager to learn—these kids have so much hope.
For me, having no clue what my future holds when the next 7 weeks end, the hope and joy that is displayed through these kids (who virtually having nothing and no one) gives me so much faith.
I know I was sent to these kids to love on them, but they will do—and have done—so much more for me. And it’s only been a few days.
More to come. Stay tuned!
