As many of you know, my team and I have been traveling throughout Cambodia looking for “unsung heroes,” people/organizations who don’t get the publicity they deserve for the amazing work they are doing. We’ve been meeting with tons of awesome Kingdom-builders who have dedicated their time and resources towards serving their communities by spreading God’s love.

One such organization is DOVE (Develop Our Village Economy). We were able to visit two of the three DOVE satellite locations and see the ministry in action. Here’s the facts:

What is DOVE’s Goal?
DOVE focuses on raising up leaders through youth discipleship programs, English/practical skills teaching and leadership development. Everything they do has Christ at its center, whether they are teaching computer skills or playing soccer.

Where does DOVE do ministry?
DOVE has three satellite campuses in Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham and Kampong Chhnang, Cambodia. Their central office is in the country’s capital, Phnom Penh, where they also do some ministry.

What makes DOVE an Unsung Hero?
We’ve chosen to submit DOVE as an Unsung Hero because they know how important young people are to the Kingdom of God. They see this (and the future) generation as church leaders and as responsible for making disciples. They want to further the Kingdom by giving youth and young adults the tools they need to succeed while showing them how God’s love should color every aspect of their lives. DOVE volunteers do all of this by living their lives in a way that points to Christ, even amidst the demands of a culture with seemingly no room for Christianity.

Where can I learn more about DOVE?
The website for DOVE is www.missiondove.org. There you can find out about DOVE’s many activities, it’s history and even how you can partner with this great organization.
