Adventurous, sincere, and passionate~all words my best friends and family would use to describe me.

Creative, compassionate and life long learner, that is how I would probably describe myself.

I am a person who truly loves meeting new people, traveling to exotic places and serving those in need. Although a good cup of coffee (the sweeter the better),  being outdoors, tasting and cooking exotic foods, reading a great true story such as The Heavenly Man or Three Cups of Tea, finding funky clothes and playing settlers I enjoy as well.  And may I add, if you have not played Settlers of Katan, you are in for a treat my friends!

I have always had a strong walk with the Lord, ever since giving my life to Him when I was 12 years old. I have this fervent passion to always seek Him out and do His will for my life, never settling for what the World casts as normal. My heart for missions began when I was 23, serving as a 3rd grade teacher at a private Christian school.  I had a mentor and dear friend who is presently serving with AIM in Jeffrey’s Bay that introduced me to what traveling with a purpose (missions) would be like for this adventurous spirit.  It was that summer on my first mission trip to Costa Rica I fell in love with missions.

For the next five years, I have traveled the world, teaching and being taught by those around me. It was on my last adventure to China, while serving as a university teacher, that I first met my husband Dave. He was serving in Tibet as a teacher too, but it wasn’t until literally running into each other in other countries on our travels such as Thailand, Bali and eventually New Zealand, did we truly fall in love. We have been married now for almost a year now and loving this new season in our lives. The one thing we always desired to do before having children of our own, was to experience the mission field together and see what God was doing around the world and what part we can have in being his hands and feet. Now is our chance~to abandon our jobs, apartment and beautiful new black truck to camp and be with you all for the next year serving those truly in need!  We can’t wait to go on this great adventure and see God move! Maybe even discover a few new gifts we never knew we possessed.

My family background is quite mixed, with both Jewish and Christian heritage. I find the Old Testament fascinating and I love studying the Word. I know God uses ALL things for good in our lives and I have learned a lot about myself and others through trials and hardship growing up in a separated family. The one thing that is always constant in life is the love that God has for us and I want to share my life and love with others (the very love He has given me).  I am so excited to see the World transformed, one life at a time, starting with mine=-)
