It was a World Race day just like any other. It was our first official day with our contact Pastor  and his wife. Yesterday as we were traveling by bus Pastor had called his wife and told her that we were about 20 minutes away. She went to begin to get things ready and there was no water. This doesn’t happen. (We are extremely blessed that our contacts have drinkable water and electricity.) However, now there was no water. We made it through the night hoping that the water would be on in the morning. No luck and no water. Some of us girls were speaking with his wife this morning and she said, “We need to pray over the taps.” Six of us grabbed a hold of the taps and sinks and began praying for water to begin pouring fourth. We prayed for about 20 minutes and then God spoke, “Get everyone.” I went outside and pulled everyone together in the other house. I said, “Everybody find a tap, sink, or a toilet, lay your hands on it and pray for the miracle of water.” I actually didn’t know if I actually heard God, but what harm could it bring. I ran back with the girls and continued to pray. Pray continued for a while and then the leaders had to meet with Pastor to discuss logistics. As we were doing this worship broke out in the house for over an hour with Patrick (One of Pastor’s friends) leading them on. Some of the men in our tribe (team) continued to pray at an outside tap for water. While others inside were rejoicing and worshiping over water that had not yet come, these men of God were on their knees praying, speaking life into each other, and bursting out in song.

We were told that the bus was on its way to take us into town for an orientation about our ministry. Worship came to a stop, and everyone began pouring outside to wait on the bus. The five men who were at the tap continued to pray. As one of them broke out in song, so did the rest of us. It was amazing. Their prayer never ceased until the bus actually arrived.

While we were gone wife called Pastor and told him that the water had come back on. HALELUJAH! We all praised God for the work that he had done. When I was back at the house I told his wife, “Praise God for running water!” She said, “You have no idea. The first place we got water was the tap outside where those boys prayed for two hours. Then after an hour it was back everywhere else.”

Praise God! The work he is doing just at our contacts house in only a piece of sand compared to the work he will continue to do this month and all throughout Africa. Also, praise God for our men of persistence, integrity, and calling out after God’s heart.
