I spent this past month in Ireland and I absolutely loved
it! It was an amazing country with so many great people, places, and things to
see. BUT, I did have a few struggles this month. Mainly, I struggled with
processing, believing, and embracing one of our ministry projects.
Two Sundays in a row we spent part of the afternoon helping
with “Healing on the Streets.” During this ministry my team and I, along with a
few church members, would take to one of the busiest pedestrian streets
in Galway and offer healing to anyone who wanted it. This whole concept was
VERY intimidating to me. I know that God is a healer. I know that He is capable
of doing anything He wants. Heck, I’ve even seen him do it (check out Jacob’s

BUT, I still have so
many buts! I know God is a healer, BUT will He heal somebody through me? I know
God is capable of doing anything, BUT will He choose to do it right now? I’ve
seen God heal somebody, BUT do I really believe it in my heart?
While standing under
a huge (really HUGE!) flag with the word “HEALING” printed down it, I was
wrestling with all of these things and wrestling with whether I should be leading
a team of ladies into the mission field and still have these doubts. How am I
supposed to be the example when I’m not even sure myself what this is all
about?
I did take comfort
in a few things. One being the flyers we were handing out. It was so much
easier for me to jump into this ministry because I supported what the flyers
stated. They contained truth and hope.

Healing
We don’t pretend to be able to heal anyone it is only God
who can heal. And we don’t presume that people always get healed just because
we pray.
However we do have the courage to consistently take a gentle
prayer ministry onto the streets of Galway and in doing what Jesus did we have
seen lives changed in powerful ways.
We’re Christians from Discovery Church in Galway and we
believe God loves you and can heal you today. God is not against you or punishing
you.
Please take a seat, it won’t cost you a thing just a moment
of your time. You have nothing to lose except your sickness.

Because we weren’t claiming to heal anybody by our own power
or to even heal anybody immediately I was put more at ease.
Secondly, I began to realize that I’m in process, and that’s
OK. God doesn’t expect to me perfect, but He does expect me to be open to Him
and what He can do. He’s still got work to do in me, and that I’m definitely
open to. No but.
