After an amazing month of ministry with Sila Home, my team travelled 24+ hours by bus, train and bus again to meet up with the rest of our squad for our month 7 debrief in Phuket, Thailand. Although it was a long journey, it was well worth it to spend 4 awesome days hanging out on the Indian Ocean in southern Thailand with the people who have become family to me.
And it was much more than just hanging out on the beach. For these debriefs our squad coaches and our mentor fly from the US to be with us and just spend time really pouring into us. The topic for the debrief was Abundant Life, and it was amazing to see our squad leave debrief so pumped to really make the most of our last 4 months of the race (??? That still feels unreal).
Some highlights of debrief include:
-An Easter morning sunrise service on the Indian Ocean
-Running in my clothes into the ocean to celebrate with 13 of my squadmates who got baptized following the service!
-Riding scooties around the island for the day with my Devoted Love teammates
-Having an adventure day with nearly the entire squad on a boat ride to Phi Phi Island, which included lots of swimming and snorkeling in the Indian Ocean!
-Sending off lanterns our last night in Thailand
And to give you a better glimpse of what debrief looked like, check out the video I made for a second grade class in the US! They sent Flat Stanley to travel around Southeast Asia with me 🙂
