Month 7 is in the books, as crazy as that feels to say! It was an amazing month of wo-manistry! All the coed teams were split up so the guys could do manistry month together, and I was on a new team with seven other ladies for the month. It was an awesome opportunity to get to know other squadmates, and we had an amazing month serving at Sila home in northern Thailand.

Sila home is a place for children to live who are orphans or who come from impoverished families. They provide an education for the children at local schools, as well as a firm foundation in the Lord. Sila home is largely sponsored by US donors, so if you’d like to read more about the organization or donate to their cause you can visit their website at http://silahome.weebly.com/

So, what did my team and I do at Sila home? We spent most mornings doing some kind of manual labor, including painting and hoeing the yard 🙂 For a few days we taught English classes in the local schools. The students at the schools were excited to find out all about life in America! Then, every evening we would lead a program for the children at Sila home. This usually involved dancing- Cotton-Eye Joe was a favorite, along with Just Dance videos (my students in Morocco loved them as well, so I already knew some of the moves!). We were at Sila home during graduation (it is summer holiday in Thailand now), so we also had the opportunity to attend the 12th grade graduation and to throw a graduation party for the Sila home graduates.

Enjoy the video below (and turn off the volume… Music is messed up) which will give you more of a glimpse into our month! Now my team is on our way to southern Thailand for a few days of debrief, and next Wednesday we will be traveling to ministry in Malaysia! Thanks for all the continued prayers 🙂
