I’ve said it over and over again, that as excited as I am for next year, it’s going to be hard leaving Morocco! The first of the lasts seem to have hit, as Em and I made our last venture to Italy to ski in the Alps. This has definitely been one of the highlights to living in Morocco these past four years- a cheap flight and skip over the sea to Europe! As great as it has been, and as thankful as I am for all that I have gotten to do and see, Em and I spent much of the trip talking about what we might be doing around this time next year when we are on the World Race.

When I moved to Morocco, I didn’t expect too much. In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect, and God has moved in ways that I never would have expected! I am going into the World Race with the realization that I can’t predict all that will happen or how God will move in my life as well as the lives of others we work with while on the Race, but here are a few of the expectations that I do have.

1. I expect to be changed. I know I will see and experience many new things throughout the next year. Honestly, when people ask me what I will do after the Race, I can say I have NO IDEA. I am so excited to see how God uses these experiences that I will have to place needs on my heart, to show me where He wants me and what He wants me doing. All I can say at this point is that I will follow where He leads me.

2. I expect to grow. I’ve never been super great at opening up and talking about my faith or my own experiences and struggles. I know this will be part of the journey, and I am excited to see how God can use these to help me impact the lives of others, as well as grow in my relationship with Him. I am also excited to have the experience to live in community with other Christians, to learn and grow with one another!

3. I expect to make an impact. Again, I’m not sure exactly how God will use me or what He all has in store for this next year of my life while I am on the Race, but a huge reason I feel called to the World Race is to share Jesus’s message of hope and love with others. Whether this is with people I meet on the field in other countries who have never heard the gospel or just sharing my own testimony with other squad mates or people back home reading my blog, I pray that God would give me the words to say (or write) to share the hope that comes with faith in Jesus.

Thanks for continued prayers as I continue fundraising and preparing for the trip (including the difficulty of preparing to leave Morocco). As always, if you feel led to give, any amount, you can click the “support me” button here on my blog. A huge blessing so far has been hearing from people who I haven’t talked to in a while and getting to share more about this trip and all that God has done in my life over the past few years, so you can always email me at [email protected] to hear more 🙂 I look forward to seeing many of you in a few short months when I return to the States just in time for SUMMER (yes, I have managed to dodge an Indiana winter yet again)!
