In Thailand, God worked through me in ways I could have never imagined 6 months ago:
He’s used me to teach English and love on 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.
He used me to preach as I gave my testimony at church.
He used me to proclaim His name as I told 300 kids that Jesus loved them and had a plan for their life.
He used me to pray as I silently claimed a young mans soul for Christ in prayer, and two days later he gave his life to the Lord.
He used me to call out gifts in my teammates as He revealed them.
Here is a quick glimpse into what our month looked like:
World Race Month 4: Thailand from Lincoln Vallett on Vimeo.
God showed me what He could do through me last month. I know I couldn’t have done any of those things on my own. I had energy every day, even when I couldn’t sleep at night. When I didn’t know what to say, I spoke words that felt like weren’t coming from my mouth. God showed me what He can do when I rely on Him for my strength… but I didn’t know what He was preparing me for.
At debrief in Bangkok our two current squad leaders pulled me aside and asked if I would be willing to be raised up to replace them when they leave at the end of this month. My brain was like a computer that shut down.. then had reboot. I didn’t know what to think.
Squad leaders lead and disciples all 44 members of W Squad. They look out for their physical and spiritual well being. Instead of only being focused on the ministry they are assigned to, the whole squad becomes their ministry. They are shepherds to the flock. Never have I felt so honored or challenged.
Now it all makes sense. God showed me what He could do through me last month to prepare me for this duty that I can by no means handle on my own. Independence has to be thrown out the window and I must learn to depend on the Lord in every aspect of this role.
Please be praying for myself and my new squad leading team being raised up: Ray, Jessie, and Cam (pictured to the left) as we begin this new season in our journey. We have already had a crazy month in Cambodia shadowing our current alumni squad leaders Laura and Amanda. It has included a few three-day hospital visit, a team being pulled from their ministry for safety concerns, and our bus hitting a cow… but God is using these situations to grow and prepare us. We are praising God for this new season.
Thanks for all the continual prayer and support!
