For about a week we went to different villages and had a crusade with local churches. The churches in this area cannot afford to put on a crusade so Cornerstone put up the cost. The only thing it was not to be partial to any particular church and it was all to go for the Kingdom.
I liked the crusade. Their was translation and the Ugandans love to dance! Even though we did not know the songs or what they were saying, I got out there with them and learned. The Cornerstone kids were great in teaching me some steps the week before.
I have to say my favorite night was Budaka on Friday night. It rained and the praise team stayed on stage even though it was pouring. The sound system almost went out. But when the kids showed up they brought joy with them. It changed the atmosphere and I looked at Kris and told her this is kingdom. These kids are orphans or their parents are unable to take care of them. They were the best dressed and the most joyful. An expression of the Holy Spirit, if I ever saw one.
Later that night, I got up and gave my testimony. Ridiculous. About 350 people showed up. The Lord moved. Many people came to Christ, more than that seeds were planted. People heard the word of God. Being there that night opened my eyes, I have no idea how God works. No idea whatsoever. I cannot phantom his thoughts. I didn’t think God wanted it to rain. I prayed for sun, the pastors prayed for sun, but it rained. I’m not sure why God wanted that, but it did.
People who lived in darkness found freedom, some saw the light for the first time and it awakened a curiosity in them. I will never see the fruit of the Crusade in Uganda. I hear some of the stories (head witchdoctors of villages being saved, miraculous healing, and conversions from other religions), but I know God is taking care of it. I’ve seen a bit of the harvest, but its no where near finished. Discipleship is just beginning.
