Sorry it’s a little late, but I wanted to let you know what we did for Christmas last month! We sis a e character building program with local kids, played games, sang songs, and most importantly, got to share the Christmas story! This is one of the only times all year the gospel is allowed to be shared openly, because people kind of expect it since its Christmas time. All other times we changed the names of Bible characters and omitted the parts about God, but this time we got to share about Jesus and tell them why he came! It was such a blessing.

We got to visit a children’s hospital and hand out treat bags and homemade Christmas cards to the families. It was so beautiful to see their faces light up as Santa (Trent) handed them candy and wished them Merry Christmas.

We also got to go caroling around Changlun. We learned songs in Malay and Tamil and went around to houses of kids from the kindergarten and kids from the character building. We got to share a little of the Christmas story and pray blessings over each house. Let me just repeat that again so you’ll understand how cool it is. We got to sing songs of praise, share the gospel, bring the Holy Spirit and pray in houses of Muslims and Hindus in a closed country! God is movin’ ya’ll! One of the houses was even the home of the head priest at the local Hindu Temple! Please continue to pray for Racers that go to Changlun, that they would have more opportunities to develop relationships with these people.

On Christmas Eve we exchanged our secret Santa gifts around our little tree, just like a little family. I may have cried a little, especially since my gift was dark chocolate and art supplies, Lauren knows me so well! On Christmas Day we had a worship session and lunch with our contact and his family, Indian food!

While it was hard to miss family Christmas back home, it was a sweet time of rest and fellowship. Carolyn made a video of all the stuff we did! Here’s the link:
