Dear mom,

Parent Vision Trip was one of the best weeks of my Race because I got to spend it with you. I loved seeing you embrace the world race life style by hurrying up to wait, approaching the unexpected with joy, and worshipping Jesus in a deeper way. Doing ministry with you was such a gift. From construction to teaching English I got to witness you come alive in Central American culture. Seeing you use your gift of speaking Spanish to connect with the locals of Nicaragua was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I loved walking the colorful streets of Granada with you and talking in our off time. We had some really great adventures in Nicaragua. A boat tour in Lake Nicaragua, touring an old church with LOTS of stairs, going to a live volcano, and swinging in a volcanic crater lake. It was a week I’ll never forget! Mom, you truly are my best friend and I love how are relationship has grown deeper and stronger as I have walked into this season of adulthood. I wouldn’t be on this Race without you and I’m so thankful that I got to share a small piece of it with you. Thank you for being my best friend, my shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with, and my constant safe place to come for advice. When I think of you, I think of Central American culture. Mom you’re VIBRANT. You are bright, joyful, and full of life. That’s Jesus working in you and people are drawn to that. Saying goodbye to you and leaving Granada broke my heart because I love you and really enjoy being with you. I miss you everyday, but being present in this culture constantly reminds me of you. You’re a truly amazing person mom and I cherish every moment of this life that I spend with you.

Love you to the moon and back,
Lexi
