Grace: disposition to or an act or instance of kindness, courtesy, or clemency.
…
Last week I was watching some children, as I often do, but this night was a little different, this time I learned a lesson.
The kids were running around, being silly and crazy, screaming and yelling. I had told them several times to calm down and use their indoor voices. I had given them more than enough chances, and I had had enough. I made all of them sit around the perimeter of the room and told them they were to sit and be still until their parents arrived to take them home.
All the kids did as I said, except for one little girl. She would not sit down and kept asking me to not tell her mom that she had been bad, that she didn't want to be in trouble and that she was sorry for not listening. I assured her that if she sat down like the others I would consider letting it slide.
She ran to the corner and began to cry.
The time came for parents to come, all the kids had left, except for the one little girl. I began to take her down the hallway to her mother, and I could see the worry in her eyes as she looked at me, and then it happened.
She saw her mother, and looked back and forth between myself her mom. I could see the words in her eyes.
"Please don't tell her I was bad"
I just looked at her, smiled, and walked away. I tried to speak, but couldn't. As I turned to walk away I felt God speak — ''That is what grace looks like"
I felt like an 'almost' tattletale. She was simply being a child, running and playing, although she didn't listen to instructions. Why would I want to get her in trouble?
Could you imagine Jesus running to God every time we did something wrong, or didn't listen to His instructions?
We would all be in a world of trouble.
Instead, Jesus gave His life on a cross, covering ALL our sins.
He doesn't care how big or small your sin is, He loves you and extends His grace to you on a daily basis.
