Here are some things i’ve learned on the race so far…
Your body never runs out of sweat.
Toilet paper is more valuable than money.
Generosity is universal.
3-in-1 instant coffee grows on you.
When you fall at God’s feet as a dead man, you find life.
I display God’s splendor! [So do you! Isaiah 61.3]
Man can ALMOST live on carbs alone.
My walk with God is more important than my comfort.
Your life really can fit into one back pack.
Eighteen square feet of space all to yourself [6ft x 3ft] is luxury.
New mercies WILL find me every morning.
Never drink the tap water.
The size of the world helps display how wide and long and high and deep the love of Christ really is.
“Repent” is not a bad word.
A little grace goes a long way.
Asians use gel deodorant.
You cannot rely on your camera to capture the full story.
Listening is harder than public speaking for me.
There are worse things in life than having to hand-wash your laundry in a bowl.
Even girls have to aim when using the squatty potty.
Cultivating community is challening. Functioning as a team without it is impossible.
A smile preaches the gospel.
I really CAN do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me.
My story has a voice.
I cry with hope.
God cares more about WHO I AM than He does where I am or what i’m doing.
You are only as strong as you are loving.
The manner in which I pursue things is more important than the thing I am pursuing.
The answer to “Is it supposed to rain today?” is always “yes”.
God’s presence is not a door we stand and knock at. It’s an open field we run through.
1 month of World Race=1.5 years at home.
No one loves carpet like the Americans.
