Friday night was “girls night out” (so fun!!). We began the night with fish pedicures. (Yes, you read that correctly) Fish pedicures. We paid three dollars to stick our feet in a tank, while dozens of tiny fish ate the dead skin off of our feet. If I weren’t laughing so hard from how much it tickled…I would have thrown up. This was definately one for the books! You gotta love Asia! We then walked our smooth, clean feet over to the Mexican cafe for dinner. (Please know that tacos are one of my all-time favorite foods!) Dinner was amazing. I’m not sure if the tacos we ordered were amazing…or if they were fantastic simply because they weren’t our usual bowl of rice. I’ve consumed more rice in the last six weeks than most of you probably have in your entire life. Like I said….you gotta love Asia 🙂 After dinner we walked around the market for a bit, and ended the night with ice cream from the Blue Pumpkin Cafe. Two thumbs up, I’d say 🙂 Random fun fact: Romans 10.15….”As it is written, ‘How BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET of those who preach the good news!’ ” See? Our fish pedicures are BIBLICAL! Who would have guessed!

This morning we held a worship service at the school we’re teaching at. Getting to worship God with some of our students was an amazing experience. I love seeing how God is moving in and through them–so exciting! I’m continually encouraged by their kind smiles and friendly, approachable character. This morning one of my students gave me a Cambodian name: Srechan (it means “beautiful moon girl”), which was kind of fun for me!

The message was delivered by one of our staff members–teacher Justin. He spoke from
Romans 10.14-15a

“But how are they to call on him whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?”

We’re quick to suggest a good movie, fun game or yummy restaraunt to a friend (or curious stranger)…but how willing are we to share the gospel? This morning, one of the staff members asked me if the Mexican Cafe we went to was worth going to again. I suggested that he order the tacos. Friends….family….random people who stumbled on this page and wish they hadn’t…Jesus is better than Tacos. Gosh that’s profound…somebody write that one down! If I can share a restauraunt suggestion with a friend….can’t I also share the gospel? How much more IMPORTANT is that message!? I realize comparing Jesus to Mexican food is a little degrading (sorry, Jesus)…but the point i’m poorly making is this:

According to God’s word…if people don’t know who Jesus is, they can’t call on Him. If they can’t call on Him, they can’t believe in Him. And if they can’t believe in Him, they can’t preach Him to other people. If they never preach, that message never goes anywhere. It stops moving. No one is sent out. No one is speaking. Nothing happens. BUT….THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN. Wanna know why? Because I have heard of Jesus. I’ve met Him. I believe in Him. And He has sent me out to preach His gospel to the nations. And guess what else? I WILL GO!!!! I WILL PREACH!!! I WILL SPEAK!!! I’ve been given a voice of power and of truth, and Satan himself cannot silence it. As long as i’m breathing…I will continue to live and share the gospel so that others can live and share the gospel–until God’s Kingdom consumes everything on this earth. And the coolest part?! There are 35 other world racers here with me in Cambodia who are doing the exact same thing, and more being trained and launched as you read this.

Look out, Cambodia….our God is a consuming fire! You’re about to become a piece of our burning torch! Welcome to the family!
