During my time in Transnistria, I have been blessed to meet such lovely women of God. From ladies who prepare our meals everyday to our ministry host Julia, all of these sisters have been confirmation to my ministry calling to help women (specifically young women). This has been especially evident through my three remarkable new friends from Transnistria: Elizabeth, Jane, and Olesya.

Meet Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is such an endearing teenager. She has a caring heart. I noticed this when I met her on my first day in Tiraspol. Elizabeth was as eager to hear about my life as she was to share her life with me. The thing I love about Elizabeth is that she was willing to share her whole heart with me. She shared both her uncertainty about what to study in university and concern about her small head cold. What’s more Elizabeth was eager to bring everything to the Lord. We prayed for her head cold and we prayed for her future. Her faith was inspiring. Please pray that she continues to walk in selfless faith.

Meet Jane!

When I first met Jane, I was drawn to her because she stood out in a crowd. Jane was the only female working tech at the church’s worship meeting. Jane is not afraid to be a little different, which is something I find truly inspirational. She is currently studying at the university in Tiraspol. Jane has dreams of becoming a pastor and share the gospel with the world. Please pray for provision and favor as she studies to bring her dreams into fruition.

Meet Olesya!

To be honest I don’t recall how we exactly met. I do however remember Lesya grabbing my hand during worship and dragging me out to the dancing circle. It may have seemed like a small action to her, but it went a long way with making me feel loved and included. During that same worship session, Lesya grabbed an interpreter and proceeded to share a word with me. Beginning a friendship, with no common language or culture or backgrounds sounds near impossible, but that night she taught me something I will always remember. Knowing God, breaks down barriers that this world puts in place. Lesya and I didn’t require a common tongue, or any of the rest of it because we had the same God. Please pray that Olesya continues to listen and trust in the words of the Lord.

Through these ladies God showered me with love. He taught me about the strength that can be found in community and friendship. I will forever be grateful for these three who blessed me so much.
