Yes!! I finally made it on to create another post. I feel like i have to beat myself up to get on the computer sometimes. I’m not very good with them and when it comes to posting something it’s even harder. Maybe I just need to tie myself onto my computer chair once in while lol. Anyways i just got a chance to read some of our team’s blogs and I’m so thrilled because i can see how everyone has such unique personalities. I just know that God is going use our team in amazing ways.
Soooooo….Fundraising J
I not sure about everyone else but I seem to be having a hard time with raising money for the trip. Actually I feel like I have run out of ideas. Recently I had planned to have a Dance-a-thon with food, raffles and games but for reasons only God knows, it had to be cancelled the day of because of issues with the clubhouse. On the bright side my friends and I prayed about what needed to be done about the situation and we felt that God was telling us to give the fundraiser food to the homeless and to reschedule the benefit for another day. It really did make me happy to do what God was putting on my heart, because how often do we listen to that inner voice telling us to do the right thing. At the same time I could not help but think of what a shame it was for it to be cancelled. Since then I feel like God keeps reminding me that he will provide, not just for me but for everyone else going on this race.
So what about you guys? I was wondering if anyone had any helpful fundraiser ideas. No matter, how cheesy or brilliant, I’m open to any suggestions because Lord Knows I’m about ready to do anything! Even if it means breaking out my old recorder from music class to play for people on the streets lol
Well hopefully we can get some ideas going that will help those of us who are scraping our brains for ways to raise money lol.
Here are several that I’m considering but have not tried yet (mostly because it’s like 17degrees in Chicago right now)
· Car wash
· Walking dogs
· BBQ/Ice cream party
· Yard sale
· Oprah (hey you never know)
