The past 2 weeks have been some of the most humbling days of my life.
Just a side note, before these two weeks began I had about $6,800 in my World Race account.
About 2 weeks ago I got a message that a couple I have known since I was very young are going to support me monthly. They were the first and only ones. I can’t express how grateful I was in that moment.
That same week I got to have dinner with some family friends that live in Singapore. We rarely get to see them and it was a great night of celebrating what God is doing and will continue to do. The next day they left a check of a significant amount on my parent’s back porch.
On August 2nd, I had a spaghetti fundraising dinner. The night was great in so many ways. There were about 75 people there. Some I have known my whole life, and some I still barely know. I got to have a meal with them and spend time talking about the upcoming year of my life, and the things that God is doing through the World Race. Humbling experience number one is when I was on stage and realized just how much the Lord is letting me a part of. Number 2 was when I realized that God had provided roughly $1,700 through that night alone.
The week following, I was picking up garage sale items that were being donated for my garage sale. In the process, I found out that my aunt and uncle who are downsizing significantly from a house in Mansfield to an apartment in Fort Worth were giving me EVERYTHING they couldn’t or didn’t want to take with them. It was a crazy amount of stuff. August 9th and 10th I had my garage sale and raised around $4,700. A garage sale making that much money is unheard of.
Today, August 11, exactly 3 months from being accepted for the World Race, I found out the missions committee at my church is picking up the rest of the tab for the trip.
In case you haven’t gotten it yet…with promised donations…
MY WORLD RACE IS FULLY FUNDED!
I literally can’t believe it. I never imagined being able to write this blog from the states. It’s not that I doubted if God could do it, I just tried not to have expectations because I knew I had until February to have all the money.
My friend and squad-mate, Sam, explained it perfectly. She said, “God is basically throwing you on the plane and making sure you know He wants you on this race so much!”
I don’t deserve this blessing from the Lord at all. Through the past two weeks I have had moments of complete selfishness. If I had been rewarded merely on my behavior, I would have nothing. Thank the Lord that he does not operate that way.
I hope you can see just how much God loves and provides for his children.
I hope how you can see how this provision had nothing to do with me.
I hope you can see God’s greatness and His power.
I hope you see His work and not mine.
I’m completely overwhelmed by Him.
Isn’t it great when He clearly shows Himself to us?
All the glory goes to the One who can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
I wish I could express how thankful I am for everyone who has given, helped, and prayed. It is more than I have words for.

Ps. In case you missed my announcement, a route change has taken place because of security reasons. Instead of Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda being our first 3 countries, we are now going to South Africa, Swaziland, and Mozambique! Flexibility and change is the name of the game! Excited to see what God has in store for X Squad!
Although I am fully funded, these funds only go toward things on the field. I still have expenses prior and during my trip that have to be paid for out of pocket, like immunizations, medicine needed while on the field, gear for the trip, etc. If you have an interest in supporting any of these needs please contact me at [email protected].
