It's been 50 days since I committed to the World Race, a very quick 50 days. The summer is absolutely flying by!
By the grace of God and the generosity of so many people, I have been able to raise $6,020. That means I'm only $480 away from my 2nd deadline.
Here's a quick breakdown of what my deadlines look like:
June 29th – $3500MET THIS DEADLINE! PRAISE THE LORD!- August 18th – $6500 — so close to this!
- End of December – $11,000
- End of February – $15,500
Let me just say, God is showing off big time! He has provided in crazy ways and I know he will continue to provide!
Here's some things that have happened in the past 50 days:
- Over 100 support letters have been sent
- 2 missions committee applications submitted
- Started selling bracelets and shirts! And still am!
- Had a 2-day garage sale that was a HUGE help!
- Sold a Coach purse that was donated to me
- Babysitting, babysitting, babysitting!
Disclaimer: All of these things have nothing to do with me. There is absolutely no way I could have done this alone in only 50 days. God is ALL over this process and He has provided amazing people to help me along the way.
All of this to say….there is still ALOT of time between now and when I launch in September. There are still so many ways to be involved in this journey.
1. On JULY 11, I am having a fundraiser at Genghis Grill at the Highlands in Arlington. I'd love to see your face there! If you mention my fundraiser, I will get a portion of the amount you spend on your meal.
2. Starting today, I am raffling a pair of custom painted Toms!! It will $10 a ticket and the winner will pick size, color, and design. The winner will be chosen on August 2nd. Here a few examples!
3. Spaghetti Dinner! On Friday, August 2nd, from 6 pm – 8 pm, I am having a fundraiser dinner! This will happen in the fellowship hall of Lake Arlington Baptist Church. I'm completely stoked about this. More than a fundraiser, it will be a time to share my heart and God's heart for the World Race. There will be a World Race alumni speaking and I'll try to answer as many questions as possible about this trip. Everyone is invited! Comment on this post if you know you will be attending and how many people you are bringing. Dinner will be $10 a plate.
4. GARAGE SALE! Yes, another one! I will have a garage sale on August 9th and 10th, so if you still have stuff to get rid of, I will take it!
5. I am still selling t-shirts and bracelets! T-shirts are $15 each and bracelets are $2 each or 3 for $5!
