We are well into our second week of month 4 and I wanted to give you an update about where we are and what we are up to this month!
On April 2nd teams Radical and Fire Starters arrived in beautiful Trujillo, Peru and we are staying in the home of a wonderful woman named Sara. She has graciously allowed us to stay on her enclosed roof top.
Our mornings during the week are spent in a neighboring community called Miracle, assisting in classrooms at two free kindergartens offered by our church partner. The children who attend the schools are between the ages of 3 and 5 years old. Each classroom has one teacher and at least 15 rambunctious, beautiful children; needless to say, those teachers could use some extra assistance with all that energy running around! These little ones keep us on our toes but I am having so much fun getting to work with them and I am even learning a little Spanish from them.
On Tuesday nights we assist with a Bible study for the mothers of the children who attend the kindergartens. Many of the mothers who attend this weekly meeting are new believers so the focus of our time with them is to encourage their growth. If mothers who are not yet Christians we have the opportunity to share the gospel.
Friday evenings we meet with students who attend Bible College in the home of our host. During this time we share testimonies, devotionals and worship. While we are here to offer encouragement we are also finding this time to be very encouraging for us.
Whenever we have available time we will be cleaning up around the church, painting and possibly even visiting youth at other churches in nearby communities.
This month please pray that our time in Trujillo and Miracle is encouraging for the believers in the area and that our teams are able to maintain focus on seeking Jesus in the midst of busy schedules. Please pray that, in the name of the Lord, we are good servants to our ministry and to one another.
