As I think about what next year holds, I really have no idea what lies before me.
I know the 11 countries where I will be doing ministry. I do not know where within the countries we will be.
I know I will be spending a year traveling and sharing the love of God. I do not know exactly what form these ministries will take.
I know I can take approxiametly 60 pounds of gear with me. As of right now, I have little idea what that gear is.
I know God will change the lives of my squad and He will change my life. I have no idea how He will choose to do this.
"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Psalm 139:16
In all of the uncertainty that comes with the next year. This is my comfort. This is my promise.
Although I often feel I have no clue what I am getting myself into, God does. He was the one that ordained it.
He knows the cities where we will minister. He will guide our path there!
He knows the ministries we will take part in. He is already preparing hearts to hear!
He knows what I will need to be sustained, and it won't all fit in my bags!
He knows the healing and growth that needs to take place in our lives! He is anxious to do it!
"Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.' And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.'" John 20:21&22
He is sending me, as the Father has sent Him, with His Spirit. And with the Holy Spirit present, I believe that miracles of love and grace are the only possible thing that can happen.
I believe that the slave will be set free.
I believe that the orphan will meet his Father.
I believe that the sick will be healed.
I believe that the dead will be raised.
I believe that the blind will see.
I believe that the hopeless will find hope.
I believe that the hungery will eat the Bread of Life.
I believe that the homeless will have a home.
I believe that the lame will dance.
I believe that the mute will sing.
So while I do not know many details that I would normally expect to know when leaving for a year, what I do know is more important: my squad's path has already been ordained, love will be shown, and God will be made clear to many around the world.
