Something God was showing me recently...

In Italy they have these fountains that pour out streams of water all the time. They are called Nasonis. While I studied abroad in Italy I would always say, “I need a fill me up fountain.” The water was so fresh and it felt like it was bringing healthy nutrients to my body. (LOL) You could usually find one without a lot of searching.
The water running from the nasoni comes from some reservoir in the Mountains. The Romans built these things called aqueducts that ran beneath the surface of the ground. The theory there was that building them underground helped to keep the water free from disease and enemy attack.
Merriam Webster says that a fountain is the source from which something proceeds or is supplied. God recently gave me this illustration, he brought me back to the “Fill me up fountains.” In the heat of the summer I was always looking for water to quench my thirst and in the trials of life I am always looking for something to extinguish whatever is going array, something to bring light to a dark situation.
God used this image to help me with the living water scenario. Jesus is the living water; he made it possible for the Holy Spirit to "flow" inside us. God wants us to choose him to extinguish our thirst; he wants us to go to the him, the fountain. He will fill us up, he will renew us, he will satisfy our needs, and he runs under the surface to protect us from enemy attack, only he can satisfy our thirst. It’s pretty radical.
