When I say rockstars, I mean my teammates.

No seriously. They’re awesome. And when dictionary.com says one definition of rockstar is “or anyone who is highly admired” … rockstars. Every last one of them.

I was on 2 different teams with 10 amazing teammates over the past 11 months. We were two teams who lived, laughed, cried, served, prayed, watched movies, danced, worshipped, and did laundry together, one for 4 months, the other for 7.

And at the end of every month (or sometime after the month was over…let’s be honest, procrastination), each of my teammates sat down in front of my camera and answered my questions. They talked about their favorite ministries. Their favorite people. The foods they liked, the foods they hated. The memories that will stick with them until they die. The things the Lord taught them.

Grace, Kyle, Julia, Landon, Ali, Rachael, Allison, Kat, Kristen, and Ashley spoke vulnerably, boldly, and humbly about each month. In the middle of the lessons, the ones we didn’t want to learn, they shared. At the end of the longest months, when we finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel, we celebrated together, and they shared again.

There’s courage in their words.

There’s humility in their words.

There are lessons for all of us. Reminders of the goodness of God. Challenges to be better.

My people are pretty wise. So listen to what they know, and learn from it. Ask them about it. A lot of the lessons we thought we learned month 3 came back for us month 7. Some of the doors the Lord opened month 2, He finally led us through month 11. Even in months 12 and 13 and beyond, we’re still fighting to listen to His voice and follow it. But man, we learned a lot in 11 months.

Community.

Rockstar words from rockstar friends.
