On July 12th, 2014, my life changed. It wasn’t one bombshell moment, but a whole day filled with laughter, hugs, and new friendships. July 12th, 2014, was when I met 3rd generation H Squad — my squad for the World Race.
H Squad met on July 12th in Georgia…hot, muggy Georgia. We spent a week in the heat, the humidity, the rain, and the bugs preparing for our 11 months in Asia. We were at Training Camp!!
I could say a lot about Training Camp. I could tell you about sleeping in weird places, and eating weird foods, and carrying an unconcious person on my back for a half hour while I was blind (aka team building…or something like that). Yes, Training Camp was challenging. And it was tiring. And sometimes I had to remind myself that I only just met these crazy people. But telling you those things wouldn’t convey the energy of Jesus that covered the week.
At Training Camp, I met 45 people (plus I and J squads) who truly love the Lord. 45 people who could turn a night on a bus into a worship session, a dance-off into a dance party, and a squad into a family. Brokenness turned to healing, honesty turned to forgiveness, and surrender resulted in calling. Jesus showed up at Training Camp, and H Squad was ready to welcome Him with open arms.
Words cannot convey the wonderful experience I had at Training Camp. So instead of attempting to use words, I made a video to show you just what Training Camp was like…without spilling any secrets to future racers, of course 🙂
So take a look. Enjoy the craziness, and remember that behind these faces are stories of 45 people who are surrendering everything to follow God to Asia. Please pray for all of us, and consider supporting us financially as we take this leap of faith. Meet the rest of my people by clicking “Meet My Squad: Sept 2014 (1)” on the left.
Thanks for watching!
