As a pre-Launching, first time packing, almost racer, I thought I’d share with you what I’ve decided to take on the World Race (Cornershop style).
What did the hippie have in her pack?
-
No marmalade jam fresh out the can.
Sunflower seed butter (like peanut butter, but sunflower seeds!)
-
Long words that we can’t understand like Pushing peng, comprehend, Bee bop and German jazz.
I’m taking an English to Spanish Dictionary, so that’s quite a few words I can’t understand.
-
The future and the past in the time tunnel of my bag.
11 months in one bag? I call that a time tunnel.
-
Doubleday books and the Kurt Vonnegut.
I’ve packed Scoop and my Nook full of classics.
-
I only wish I could fit a massive, massive, massive cake in my bag.
Seriously?
-
Essential oils- lavender, patchouli, peppermint, eucalyptus, rose and olive, rosehip and vitamin E, lemon, and purification
-
Hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol
-
Lifestraws! Rove Tumbler and a Camelbak
-
Tea, so much tea!
-
Vitamins, Airborne, Garlic, Organic Vitamin C drops
-
Sleeping bag, compression pillow, sleeping pad, tent
-
3 shorts, 3 tanks, 2 tshirts, pajamas, 1 dress, 1 long sleeve shirt, 1 pair of jeans
-
Dr. Bronners liquid soap, Olive oil bar soap, egg/beer/honey shampoo bar, adzuki bean face scrub and bar, Earthpaste toothpaste, baby wipes
-
Foundation, Vitamin E oil, Coconut oil
-
1 pair of chacos, 1 pair of tennis sneakers (8 pairs of socks), 1 pair of flip flops
-
Mosquito net, Deet bug spray, Bug spray without deet, sunscreen
-
Band Aids with polka dots (the reason I bought them), Neosporin
-
Packing cubes (love them), compression bags
Stay tuned to find out if all of this stuff was helpful or necessary or cumbersome or just perfect!
Thank you Katy, Kwame, Sharon, Megan, Sarah, Josh, Becky, Bryan, Ally, Spencer, Angie, Stacie, Leisha, Ann, Nicole, Jessica, Joey, Cheryl, and Gerald for being so generous in providing a lot of what I’m taking on the World Race!
And I’m off…
Now that we’ve climbed the mountain, the mountain will never seem the same again.
