Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by my page and getting
to know a little more about me. I just want to begin by saying how blessed
beyond words I am to be going on this mission trip around the world to share
Jesus’ love with the nations! I still wake up every morning and I have to pinch
myself to make sure this is real and not something I just dreamed about. Mostly because it kind of is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time so that
might be why it doesn’t seem real yet. And it’s that awesome and radical to me that
God has called me to do this this year! So I give Him the glory and the praise
for the great work He is doing in and through me. I am SO thankful to my
supporters and prayer warriors who are covering this trip and are so excited
for the Kingdom work that the Lord is going to do through my squad, team and
YOU the next 11 months. I can tell you right now it is going to be INCREDIBLE!
So, thank you family and friends and brothers and sisters in Christ- you are a
blessing to me and I in turn hope and pray to be a blessing to you!

Well with that said, I am Leah Rae Mohrig and I’m 23 years
old. That feels kinda old to say but it’s my favorite number so I actually love
being this age. I graduated from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ in May
2009 with my degree in Elementary Education and I absolutely love teaching the
little kiddos.  I had a great year this year substitute teaching and
experiencing all the grades K-8. God opened some amazing doors and allowed me
to be a long term sub at a few really great schools with great classes and
teachers. Through my experiences this year I really know now that I have what
it takes to be a teacher that makes a difference, which was so fun to learn and gain that
confidence from Him. And I really can’t wait to teach some little hearts around the world this year.

I grew up in a Christian home with amazing parents and 3
wonderful siblings who have blessed my life tremendously. My parents (Jim and
Susan) have been married for 27 years and are such an example to me of love and
a marriage centered on Christ. They are so supportive of everything I do and
although this was hard to grasp at first they are my number one supporters for
going on the World Race this year. My older brother is Justin, he is 24 and a
man who loves the Lord…he works very hard in the business world and God is
blessing him abundantly and in turn he blessed me so much as a big supporter of
this trip. My younger brother is Chase, who is 19 and such a sweetheart and
stud. He is an awesome golfer and I have loved watching him grow up into a man
who serves the Lord and loves people. I have one sister Jocelyn, who is the
baby and such a gift to me from up above! She’s 17 and she’s one of my best
friends! She is such a free spirit and doesn’t concern herself with other
people’s opinions of her- she’s just who God made her to be. I just love that
about her. She’s growing up so fast and really learning who she is in the Lord
and has really inspired me in a lot of ways to be more of a free spirit! So
thanks for that sister. This is my family!

I was born in Michigan and lived there until I was 8 years
old. My dad got transferred out to Arizona at that time because my mom was from
Arizona and was really tired of the cold weather in good ole MI. We had so many amazing friendships with
families back in Michigan and I‘m so thankful to all of them for staying in our
lives and coming to visit us out in the desert. It’s been the highlight of
every year for me to return to MI to see all of them and my wonderful extended
family that still lives there. A piece of my heart will always be there.

Arizona is where God really began to shape me into the woman I am today and who He wants me to be, so I can’t say I
could still see myself living in Michigan. He did this through so many leaders and friends throughout my years growing up here. I met my three best friends and
kindred spirits (nerdy but true) when I was in 3rd grade at the church I grew up at;
Northwest Community Church. The Lord has taken us all on quite the journey over the years and
also protected us from so much through uniting us as friends. I couldn’t ask
for sweeter, more caring, and loving friends who love Jesus than Janelle
Campbell, Sarah McLaughlin and Makayla Pierce. 15 years and we’re still going
strong…most of the time 🙂

The Lord definitely takes us all on journeys of ups and downs
through life and those make us who we are. I have been blessed by countless
friends through my time growing up in Arizona, the church we attended for 13
years, going to Grand Canyon University for college, and teaching
for the year following college. I love looking back and realizing.. “Wow, God totally knows what He is doing-even when we
have no idea why it’s happening
“, and I love that so much about Him!! The past few years especially
have been a growing time, and a time where I have just been learning to give up
plans that I like to think I have control of. It was during this time that He called me to go on the World
Race. Which is a whole different story I will share with you all!

Some FUN Info about me:

I love laughing so hard that I cry–this happens often. Running is so enjoyable to me, quality time with family and friends, driving with the windows down and singing really loud to
music is one of my favorite things to do-I will miss this! I also love taking pictures,
reading
, hiking, teaching, shopping, journaling, meeting new people and
encouraging them! Boating-tubing-wakeboarding, anything outside, volleyball, bike rides!, smiling at
people just because I can and I like to 🙂 baseball is my favorite sport. Cookies, cupcakes and chocolate- I will miss you. Staying up late and acting really goofy. playing tennis, the beach, the
vastness of the ocean, lip gloss, star gazing, dancing in the rain, quiet times with the Lord , making awesome memories with people!!
And learning to LOVE people like JESUS loves
them! That’s what I’m most excited to learn this year and I can’t wait to do ALL of this around the world!
