Hello!
I thought I would introduce myself to you all out there in internet land. My name is Leah and I am from Minneapolis, MN. To be honest I’m not very good at these types of self descriptions but I will do the best I can.
God placed missions on my heart when I was still in high school, but back then I wasn’t ready to respond to that call. I went to college, got my Bachelor’s degree and it was only then that I went on my first missions trip overseas. On that trip God renewed that call to missions and from then to today I have been missionaly minded and driven. 3 years ago I felt the Lord leading me to get further training and I wound up doing Global Fronteir Missions’ (Oaxaca Mexico) Mission Training School (MTS). I completed the school and decided to stay on staff for the summer and the next MTS.
During my time in Mexico God grew me and stretched me and showed me more about how he has created me for his glory and for his heart. I began to see that God had placed within me a heart of justice and compassion, and he has given me a Holy Discontent for injustices like human trafficking. My desire is for God’s justice to reign and His restoration to come not only to the oppressed but to the oppressors as well. My desire is that injustices would be stopped before they even begin.
He also has placed in me a passion for worship, and a desire for people to encounter God through worship. I truely believe John Piper’s famous catch phrase “Missions exists, because worship doesn’t”. I desire to see deep intimate worship of our Lord and Savior ignited around the world in whatever way that looks for each of us. One of my great joys is to worship with my brother’s and sister’s around the globe, I truely believe that it’s a glimpse of heaven on earth.
I’m on this trip to see what the Lord has for me, and I’m going without expectation or agenda. My only aim is that God would have His glory through this trip and that lives would be changed, mine included. God Bless and thanks for coming with me on this New Adventure!
