Lord, give me eyes to see your Kingdom and a heart to feel Your movement!
It can be so easy to miss God when we are caught up in our everyday lives. Life becomes a routine that must be followed instead of a journey to be lived. God is everywhere, in everything and in each one of us that have surrendered our life to Him. Knowing those promises, it is amazing that we sometimes still choose to ignore His movement and guiding.
Every day we must ask; “God, where are You moving today and how can I be a part of that movement?” There is such joy to be found when we surrender our lives to where they were created to be – and that is right in the center of God’s will, doing our Father’s business (Luke 2:49). I believe that one of Satan’s strongest tactics against Christians is to distract us from our Father’s business. We can be living great lives, doing good things, helping people ect., but if it is not where God has directed us then it is glorifying ourselves (sin) rather than the only One who deserves the glory.
Here on the World Race, I know I am where God has called me to be for this year, but each day it is still easy to fall into the temptation of distraction. There is always something or someone demanding my attention; chores to do, prayers to pray, kids to play with and love on, places to go, people to talk to and more. I constantly have to remind myself that it is not about what I want or how I feel at the moment. Surrender is not a one time thing, but a daily acknowledgement that I must die to myself, my plans, my desires and seek Him.
“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and you will find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29: 11-13
God has plans for each one of us, but it requires seeking Him in faith for those plans to be revealed in our lives. He wants us to have that fullness of life Jesus promises (John 10:10), but it requires a continual surrender and seeking on our part to find that abundant life.
