Here is what has happened in my first seven days in Cambodia!
WE ARRIVED! We are at The Hope Center in Sway Kroum Village, it is an orphanage with around 20 kids from the ages of 2-17. We teach English to the students on their breaks from school. The High school kids have a break in the middle of the day and then go back in the afternoon so they have it after dinner with they boys. Us girls have the little ones after their day at school a little after lunch.
Teaching is something I have never really done before, but it’s a lot of fun because we get to play games and watch movies ๐ ! I am all about this kind of teaching! The kids are so great and so sweet I want to keep them all!!
When we first got to Cambodia our whole squad had a team change. SO I am not with my original team anymore. My new team is Diego, Hannah, Katie, Randy, and Matt. (If you look on your left on my page you will be able to see my new team and you can look at their blogs.) The team was composed of four people who were on the same team before and then randy and I, so team change was hard at the beginning but as of yesterday it’s looking up! Please pray for our team and the dynamic and us being able to grow deeper with one another.
I also got a new hairstyle…

…. I just want to look more like my mom, ya know?
This hair cut is more of a story within itself, which I plan on blogging about separately ๐
Not getting in the Wifi fast has been really good, We do have Wifi at our site (which some teams don’t) but I am having some great self control ๐ * self-high five*. Currently I am trying to upload a video, but it’s very hard because the wifi isn’t the greatest, but Even though Its been uploading for a day, it should only have a few hours left! Hopefully today you all get to see it! I have been trying to upload this since Thailand!!
Cambodia is great, though it’s very hot and no air conditioning, the Stars are beautiful here!I hope to blog more to keep you involved since Im not getting on Facebook until South Africa!
Stay weird,
Laurie xx
