Everyone is always asking what types of ministry I will be doing in each country. I’ve never really been able to give any information…until now!

This morning, my wonderful team leader Tamica, spilled the beans about what my team and I will be doing to spread the love of our God in Ireland.

I’m so excited to tell you that my team, Kingdom Unity, will be working with another team, Benkadi! Together we will be partnering with Dublin Christian Mission, which is the second oldest mission in the world! Team Benkadi will primarily be working at Light House, a homeless shelter run by the mission. My own team will be focused on outreach to at-risk children and immigrants.

August 15-22 we will be working at Ballinderry camp with at-risk children and their families in the Wicklow mountains (that’s the Wicklow mountains to the right). The camp is a time of spiritual nourishment for kids and families that the Mission is in contact with. In traditional camping style, we will be sleeping in tents for the week. (We’ll also be in tents during training our first week in Ireland, so my first 2 weeks will be in a tent!) Each day of camp consists of session times, activities, outings, meals, and games!

After this week of camp we’ll be working with a people group referred to as The Travelers. We are not sure where exactly these people are from, but we have been told they are gypsies. While working with this particular group we’ll get to stay with our ministry contact in his/her home.

And just if you were wondering, the other four teams on K-squad will be heading to Northern Ireland to work with Causeway Coast Vineyard Church. during our time in Ireland.

Right now I’m back home spending time with my family, going through my last round of doctor’s appointments, and packing (and repacking) to try to fit everything in my pack! On Saturday my mom and I will head to Dallas to spend time with more family before I leave dear old Texas. On the 10th I will fly out of DFW, have a layover in Atlanta (where I’ll meet up with wonderful fellow racer Ashley), and then head up to NYC. After spending the day in the city we’ll head to Dublin with the rest of K-squad on Tuesday evening! That’s a week from today!

I think that’s all the new information I have! Thanks for checking in! Please continue to pray for me and my team and all of the people we’ll be meeting along the way! I’ll make sure and keep you updated as the Launch date gets closer!
