When you love someone how do you show it?

Sometimes it’s through words, sometimes it’s through a
loving look, sometimes quality time.

When you aren’t loving someone how do you show it?
Sometimes it’s through words, sometimes it’s through the
look that you never sent their way, sometimes it’s the quality time that you
never bothered with.

Disappointment wells up inside of me. Hurt, sadness, even
anger.

It’s like getting an incredibly delicious fruit basket and
then realizing the fruit is fake. I’m not going to enjoy it, I hate fake fruit.

It’s disappointment because you had an expectation of what
that basket held.

I came into this month expecting one kind of ministry and
came out learning a completely different kind.

Love.
To love with my whole heart. To serve with my whole heart.

Sometimes I forget that love is my ministry everyday. “We
love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

You have never met eyes with someone who doesn’t matter to
God. LOVE them like they matter.

It’s amazing to me every single time I think about how Jesus
freely loves me.  I continually break His
heart when I turn my back. But, one thing remains.

Unconditional. Love.
My human mind can’t completely comprehend the beauty of
that.

Nothing -absolutely nothing- can separate me from my
Father’s love.

John 13:34-35 says, “A new command I give you: love one
another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone
will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

When you give your love freely as a human it’s hard not to
expect a beautiful return of the same emotion. We expect it to be mutual. What
happens when it’s not mutual?
