I have tried multiple times to write this blog, and every time come up short. But as I was sitting at my computer, trying to form an update for everyone, and becoming annoyed that I couldn’t, I felt God telling me to just be real. I don’t need to form a story, share an experience, or anything I just need to be real and open and vulnerable. SO here we go!
This summer I have been given the opportunity to intern for my churches student missions program, The Road. I will be with 2 other people – Becca and Daniel- in New Orleans for 3 weeks with eighth graders and South Carolina for 4 weeks with high schoolers. I am trying to get everything ready for training camp and being gone for two months this summer, and right now, I just need prayer. A lot of prayer.
“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prater and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
Please pray for Becca, Daniel and I as we go into the summer.
Pray that we will be able to lean on the Lord 100% of the time. That we will trust in His plans for the summer and that we can be used for His kingdom. Pray that He allows us to help students grow with Him and lead them exactly where He needs them. Pray that we will have strength, when we are feeling down or having struggle. That we will see His beauty even in the hard times. Pray that we stay focused and centered on Gods word. That as we go through the lessons this summer, that we can teach exactly what the Lord wants. Pray that we form Christ-centered relationships with the students on our trips, and that we can be used in their lives the way God intends for us. Pray that all the glory will be given to God, and that our summer is spent rejoicing in His great name! Also please pray these things for all of the other Faithbridge interns going on journeys this summer as well
Please pray for the students and adult leaders that will be on the trips.
Pray that the student’s hearts are open to what God is going to do this summer. That they will grow with Christ and grow with each other. For God to give them peace and joy as they go into these mission journeys.
Please pray for the Faithbridge staff.
Pray over the awesome coordinators- Missy, Seth, and Annee as mission season goes into launch. Pray that God will guide them and give them peace in this chaotic season. That they lean and trust in the Lord every step of the way even when things get hard.
Please pray for my race.
I am still preparing for the World Race and COULD NOT be more excited. I am excited that the Lord has given me the chance to intern this summer and stay involved in the program that helped me find my love for missions. Please be praying over me that I can stay focused on the Lord in this time. That I remember why I am doing this and remember how great the Lord always is. That I trust in him every step of the way and continue to chase Him daily. Pray that I don’t get comfortable with where I am, that I will continue pursuing Him day in and day out, just as He pursues me. Also, please be praying over my financial support. God has provided and I know He will continue to do so. After my t-shirt fundraiser I am a few hundred dollars away from my first deadline of $5,000- due July 22.
