We're almost done with our time in Malawi and it's probably been my favorite month so far on the race. Our first few days were spent in Dwangwa. We lived with Pastor Obrey, his wife, Mary, and their children. We tented it in their backyard where unfortunately, it rained almost every night. Some nights we would have some flooding.
We were so blessed by this family opening up their home to us. Little things like Western toilets and showheads make month 7 World Racers pretty happy.
Our ministry consisted of going door-to-door in various neighborhoods and getting to know people while sharing the Gospel. Numerous people decided to accept Jesus as their Savior! Door-to-door has never been my favorite method of ministry but I have been really enjoying it this month. It was beautiful to walk amongst the huge sugarcane fields and see the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen in my entire life. There's just something different about the sky here.
One of the biggest things that Pastor Obrey and our contact, Eddie, kept saying to us was 'feel free.' They have welcomed us with open arms here and want to make their home our home. Feel free because you are free. It just reminds me of Jesus saying the exact same thing to us.
"Feel free my child."
He has made us free but do we always choose to walk in that freedom? Honestly, sometimes it's hard. The world and Satan are two huge obstacles with doing that. Christ has made us free but sometimes we choose to hold on to our old chains, whether through acts or remembrance.
I just want to encourage whoever is reading this to walk in your freedom. Walk in your freedom because it's already been fought and paid for you. Feel free because you are free.
