I'm sitting here in my nice air-conditioned hotel room in Chicago thinking, holy crap, tonight we will be in the Dominican Republic. Who knows when the next time I'll be able to drink water from the tap, sleep in a huge bed by myself, or be able to have fairly good wifi is. Kinda crazy.

When I first signed up for the race back in January it seemed like September would take forever to get here, but now here I am, finished with goodbyes to friends and family and about to board a plane in a few hours. But I am not alone.

I have been seriously so blessed by my team, squad, squad leaders, mobilizer, and squad coordinator throughout this whole process. God knew what He was doing when He put this group of people together. I am so excited to live life with my new little Team Moriah family. I love these men and women so much and I am so stoked to see how God is going to use us to advance His kingdom.

We recently found out that today's travel schedule looks like a plane ride to Miami, another plane ride to the DR (Woohoo!), and then a bus ride to San Juan where we will be spending the night with some of the teams and then our contacts will pick us up from there. My team will be living in the mountains this month ministering to people, doing children's ministry, and possibly a small service project.

Thank you all for your prayers and support! A little update about how fundraising is going…well, because of everyone who bought a bracelet, a t-shirt, went to trivia night, went to the silent auction, willingly gave more than maybe you could, and are monthly sponsors, I AM FULLY FUNDED!!! It won't technically show up in my account until like February, but still, there is much happy dancing going on. Thank you all. I am feeling so blessed right now and I cannot wait to begin this adventure! See you in the DR!
