The sun beat down on us as we trudged up and down trash-lined dirt roads in the compound. We must have walked for miles that morning, the third to last day of my time in Lusaka, Zambia. Almost the end of my World Race experience.

I was so ready to just go back to the school with the children, but their teacher had us on an unexpected field trip…and God had something special for me.

I had one dream above all other dreams. All others could never come true, but if this one did…I would know I was supposed to be on the World Race for a reason, a purpose, that truly gives God all the glory.

My dream? To be the personal face of Jesus to at least one person.

Now, you may be thinking, “of course you will be the face of Jesus…to many people!”

I know that I could have left the Race with the assurance that I was His face to many people. He lives in me.

However, to hear those words is a unique privilege, a rare opportunity.

The 11 year old girl holding my hand through hours of walking through a village compound made my dream come true. She first began to tell me that I was different than other visitors they had received in their school.

Then, she said to me, “when I see you, I just see Jesus.”

I.Just.See.Jesus.

Lord, that’s all I wanted. People to see You.

Yes, the waterfalls and mountain ranges took my breath away.

The passport stamps are fun to look at.

The great and varied foods are delicious.

The music makes me dance.

The preaching has been powerful at times.

I just wanted one thing. I wanted people to see Jesus when they looked at me.

My dream came true.
